Transformation Office Implementation Coach
About Snowy:
Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.
Snowy 2.0 is Australia’s largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
Snowy Hydro has already embarked on an ambitious transformation journey, and we are looking for a leader to join our Transformation Office as an Transformation Office Implementation Coach.
About the position:
The Transformation Office Implementation Coach role at Snowy Hydro is a hands-on, critical position, primarily dedicated to our people, building capability, and fostering trust by sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with teams to overcome challenges. The Coach is responsible for driving the successful adoption and sustainment of new processes and initiatives across the organisation, ensuring that every initiative is effectively embedded at the site level to deliver measurable value and uphold the highest standards of safety and operational compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a dedicated partner to business-led initiatives, collaborating closely to translate strategy into tangible, embedded operational change. Lead high-impact interventions focused on building and strengthening our operating muscle by helping teams reframe ways of thinking and applying effective problem-solving techniques to overcome cultural barriers and resistance to change.
- Develop robust change management plans, actively monitor key adoption metrics (e.g., tool usage, process adherence) post-launch, and ensure all initiatives have proper change plans in place.
- Partner with Finance and Business Leads to act as a commercially aware champion, rigorously validating, tracking, and reporting on the financial and non-financial benefits defined in the business case, while actively chasing the dollars to ensure the expected value shows up where anticipated and proactively resolving any obstacles to full value realisation.
- Lead collaborative coaching sessions and workshops to empower Initiative Leads in mastering essential leadership skills (stakeholder management, decision-making, team motivation) and the practical application of transformation best practices (governance, risk management).
- Conduct independent health checks and assurance reviews on assigned initiatives, providing objective feedback to the Head of Transformation on project risks and quality of delivery.
- Ensure initiative teams comply with the agreed-upon Transformation Office (TO) governance framework, contribute to the refinement of TO tools, and act as an ambassador for the target operating model.
About the location:
This role is a 2 year fixed term contract ideally based in Cooma, NSW, the heart of the Snowy Mountains Scheme. We will also consider candidates based in our Sydney office who demonstrate the required experience and ability to travel. For those wanting to move to Cooma we will provide relocation support.
Regardless of your base location, the role requires a willingness to travel frequently across our various sites to ensure hands-on, effective implementation.
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Organisational Development, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a Change Management, Business Partner, or Project Management role within a large-scale organisational transformation.
- Formal certification in Change Management or a recognised Coaching accreditation.
- Proven experience coaching and advising senior managers or initiative leads through organisational change.
- Demonstrated passion for transformation and a creative, humble approach to problem-solving, with the ability to tackle novel issues in a complex environment without leaning on a single, fixed methodology.
- Strong communications/report writing skills, and the ability to articulate complex concepts with simplicity and gravitas, building immediate credibility and compelling leaders to act on strategic recommendations.
