About Snowy:

Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.

About the position:

We are seeking a driven, self-starting Project Manager eager to own the end-to-end delivery of technology projects. In this role you will gain hands-on experience driving project delivery from initiation to completion. You will be responsible for detailed planning, execution, and monitoring of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring strategic business objectives are met.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, defining scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Track expenditure, monitor budget utilisation, and ensure appropriate project resourcing.
  • Proactively identify, document, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Track key milestones and deliverables, providing regular, accurate status updates to stakeholders.
  • Confirm all project deliverables meet agreed-upon requirements and quality standards.
  • Create clarity and momentum for the project team, manage stakeholder relationships, and serve as the project's communication hub.

About the location:

This opportunity is based at our Sydney office. We value the energy and collaboration that comes from in-person teamwork, so a regular presence in Sydney is required. Hybrid working arrangements are available, balancing focused remote work with essential time in the office. Please note that travel to project sites will be required on a needs basis to drive project momentum and key stakeholder alignment.

About you:

  • Demonstrated foundational competence in project delivery, typically gained through 2–3 years of experience in a project coordination, project support, or related role.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to build positive working relationships with diverse individuals and technical teams.
  • Holds a relevant degree or recognised Project Management certifications (e.g., Prince2 Foundation, CAPM, Agile certification), or is actively working toward achieving one.
  • Adept at coordination and administration related to external vendors or contractors, with an eagerness to learn how to effectively manage these relationships.
  • Capable of working with growing autonomy, demonstrating initiative and taking ownership of assigned tasks and outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage competing priorities, and demonstrate a solution-focused mindset when faced with challenges.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across states on a needs basis.
  • Technical Interest (Desirable): A foundational understanding of, or academic exposure to, software development, corporate systems, or cyber security projects is a plus.
