About the position:

The Financial Management Business Partner is key to Snowy’s ongoing success. Partnering with stakeholders at all levels to identify savings and driving opportunities, this position will see you work across a wide portfolio and provide high quality oversight, insight and foresight into business expenditure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with stakeholders ranging from cost centre owners to senior execs

  • Ongoing maintenance and review of finance structures, systems, processes and cost controls

  • Providing financial advice and guidance to a host of leaders through education on the budget system, processes and associated obligations

  • Ensuring high quality of governance in forecasting, reporting and analysis of key operating expenditure variables

  • Proactively manage and seek to develop/mentor other team members such that their valuable contribution to the team is optimised

  • Monitor operating expenditure accounting activities to ensure they comply with relevant AASB standards

  • Coordinating, facilitating, interrogating, analysing, challenging and uploading operating expenditure budgets and forecasts

  • Recommending changes & improvements to process and practices particularly in relation to General Ledger use

About the location:

Ideally based in Sydney, we will also consider candidates from Melbourne

About you:

  • You’ll bring experience as a senior member of a finance team

  • You’ll be CPA/CA qualified

  • You’ll have a demonstrated ability to liaise and direct a wide range of stakeholders at all levels and tailor your approach accordingly

  • Familiarity with Electricity Generation & Markets, while not essential, will be beneficial.

  • A demonstrated understanding & experience with cost management and analysis software such as CPM

  • Big 4 exposure/history will be viewed favourably

  • You have significant knowledge of category management techniques

  • You have the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions/recommendations based on accurate & timely analysis

  • You bring a desire to share knowledge and expertise with members of your team and the greater Finance team
