About the position:
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant provides accounting and reporting support within the Finance team. With a particular focus on Fixed Assets Accounting, the position has a series of individual responsibilities and also provides ad-hoc support where necessary.
This position is a Fixed-Term 18 month contract.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation and monthly reconciliations.

Maintain the Work in Progress (WIP) account including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) adjustment and ensure timely capitalisation of assets in the fixed asset register.

Provide accounting advice to the broader business on capitalisation based on Group policy/accounting standards and prepare technical accounting position papers as needed.

Manage and maintain lease accounting records, ensuring accurate identification and treatment of new leases or any terminations.

Reconcile intercompany balances/transactions and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.

Contributor to various management and statutory reports.

Assist with external auditor requests.
About the location:
The role is based in Sydney.
About you:

Ideally you will bring experience in fixed asset accounting

You have a CA/CPA qualification with 1-2 years PQE
-
Experience of ASX reporting or Energy Industry is advantageous but not essential
-
You demonstrate a high degree of ownership and accountability.

You bring with you excellent stakeholder management & communication skills.
