Snowy's ambitions are centred on a significant commercial growth phase to meet the strong demand for green energy, which includes targeting a major expansion of Commercial & Industrial volumes and new renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) across New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia.
About the position:
Snowy Hydro is looking for a Commercial Lead to drive the contracting of renewable energy and storage offtake transactions to support Snowy’s growth targets. You will be responsible for identifying, originating and securing multi-year renewable energy and battery storage offtake transactions.
Key Responsibilities:

Leading the commercial evaluation, risk assessment, and negotiation for multi-year renewable energy offtake agreements.

Driving the end-to-end commercial process for contracts, term sheets and long form agreements including contract review, negotiation, and execution

Maintaining continuous engagement with wind, solar, and battery developers with the aim of identifying renewable energy projects for Snowy to enter into offtake contracts.

Developing and modelling commercial cases for strategic opportunities identified through market trend analysis, presenting financially sound recommendations to the leadership team. Provide input into the annual Snowy Hydro corporate planning process.

Collaboration with internal and external cross functional teams (including trading, tax, treasury and legal) to ensure alignment of commercial strategies and risk across the business.

Assessing market conditions, trends in technology and project economics and the resulting impact on Snowy offtake and investment decisions.
About the location:
This is a Sydney based hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 working from home) offering significant flexibility reporting directly to the Head of Energy and Storage Procurement.
About you:

You bring a strong working knowledge of the NEM including experience building key client relationships within the energy sector.

You have experience with the development and commercialisation of renewables and battery projects in Australia & associated revenue contracting models including a track record of structuring and closing complex, high-value energy transactions.

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Economics, Law Engineering, or a related field.

Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes in a collaborative manner.

An ability to manage and prioritise their own work while remaining deadline focused.

Ideally you will be an AFMA Accredited Dealer or have a willingness to obtain accreditation.
