About the position:
An exciting opportunity exists for two Business Analysts to join the Technology team full-time. This person will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements for various technology projects, ensuring that solutions effectively meet business needs. This role requires a solid understanding of business processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both business stakeholders and technical teams in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Requirement Gathering: Work with stakeholders to understand needs, facilitate meetings to elicit detailed requirements, and translate concepts into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
- Project Support: Assist in defining project scope, participate in testing (including UAT), and support change management and user training.
- Process Improvement & Standards: Identify opportunities for process improvements, establish high standards for documentation and requirements quality, and stay current with industry trends and best practices.
- Problem Solving & Risk Management: Proactively identify and resolve complex issues, and assess project risks related to requirements and scope, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration: Act as a liaison between business users and the technology development team, effectively communicate requirements, and ensure solutions align with documentation.
About the location:
This role can be based out of the Sydney, Melbourne or Cooma office to support team collaboration and key stakeholder engagement with flexible hybrid working arrangements for the right candidate.
About you:
- Proficiency with requirements management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Relevant Business Analysis qualifications, such as IIBA certification (e.g., CBAP, ECBA).
- The ability to work autonomously and responsibly, demonstrating strong values in behaviour and interactions.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet critical deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate resilience in a constantly changing environment.
- Familiarity with metering data, MSATS, and MDPs is highly regarded.
- Experience in transformation or system integration projects is highly regarded.
- Knowledge of energy market operations (DER, FCAS, NEM processes) is a plus.
- Background in software development, infrastructure, corporate systems or cyber security projects (desirable).
