Analyst - Investment Strategy

About the position:
The Analyst - Investment Strategy will report to the Head of Investment and focuses on driving internal investments and capital allocation processes. The position plays a key role across both the strategic and commercial fronts of Snowy Hydro’s business. It will lead financial and commercial scenario analysis and asset evaluation to support key investment decisions for projects and programs of works on Snowy’s existing assets and new or emerging developments.
Key Responsibilities:

Implementation and running the commercial aspects of the capital management process across the group

Advising senior leadership on achieving investment targets through structured, best practice modelling

Contributing to the preparation of business cases for major investment initiatives

Collaborating with engineers and the asset management teams well as external consultants, financial advisors, lawyers and regulatory bodies

Providing detailed analysis of financial returns and project performance to support decision-making by executive and senior management investment committees
About the location:
This role is based in Sydney.
About you:

You have a Bachelor’s degree in, but not limited to, commerce, economics or engineering. A Post Graduate degree or similar such as CFA or an MBA are also desirable although not essential

You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Ideally you come from the energy sector

You have familiarity with engineering concepts

You have experience with statistical analysis and financial forecasting

You build trust, rapport and respect with others, at all levels, easily

You bring a strong background in corporate finance and you are highly proficient in financial modelling as these are essential in order to understand the economic viability of investments and lifecycle modelling
