About the position:

Are you a natural relationship builder with a strong engineering background?

 

We are seeking a highly capable Site Manager for Steel Linings to join the Snowy 2.0 Project team. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager (E&M), you will take full ownership of the end-to-end installation of all steel linings, which form the critical steel-lined waterways for the Power Station Complex.

 

In this role, you will act on behalf of the Owners team to oversee contractor activities, ensuring that all constructed assets meet rigorous contractual and engineering standards

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Installation Management: Direct the full scope of work for the steel lining installation, for the steel lined waterways within the Power Station Complex, this includes specialist welding activities. 

  • Stakeholder Coordination & Interfacing: Act as the central point of contact between multidisciplinary site teams, remote stakeholders, and contractors. You will need to align competing priorities and ensure everyone is moving toward the same goal.

  • Quality & Compliance: Provide strict assurance that contractors are complying with the Employer's Design and Installation Requirements. Your oversight will be critical in proactively preventing short, medium, and long-term legacy issues, ensuring the constructed asset successfully stands up to its rigorous 150-year design life 

  • Safety Leadership & Integration: Maintain the highest standard of health and safety performance across all contract boundaries. You will lead by example, actively participate in Safety in Design studies, and collaborate closely with Safety & Environmental Assurance Officers to ensure site-wide compliance

About the location:

This role will require you to be 100% on-site, working off a 14/7 FIFO roster. Standard FIFO camp-style arrangements are included. 

 

About you:

To thrive in this complex, multi-interface environment, you must possess the right mix of technical knowledge and interpersonal finesse. You will bring:

 

  • Complex Infrastructure Delivery: You have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects that involve managing multiple contract interfaces 

  • Exceptional Communication: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can seamlessly adapt your style to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels—from internal Site Technical Officers and engineers to external contractors (such as ATB, Voith, and Future Generation JV) and remote stakeholders 

  • A Measured & Adaptable Personality: You remain calm under pressure and can adapt quickly and constructively to changing project demands and circumstances.

  • Diplomacy & Drive: You have a proven ability to hold contractors accountable while maintaining strong, collaborative, and prolonged relationships

 

Your Experience

  • A recognised tertiary degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 10+ years of experience working on complex Greenfield and Brownfield infrastructure projects.

  • Extensive experience managing multiple contract interfaces within a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Project management qualifications or proven management experience (knowledge of construction and E&M installation is highly regarded).
