About the position:
Are you an environmental professional passionate about protecting natural landscapes during major infrastructure delivery?
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Assurance Officer to join the Snowy 2.0 project team onsite. In this critical 'owners team' role, you will be the driving force ensuring that all environmental management obligations, planning approvals, and statutory requirements are expertly delivered by our contractors.
Key Responsibilities:

Assurance & Compliance: Monitoring and reviewing the Contractor's Environmental Management Strategy and Sub Plans to ensure all environmental obligations are successfully discharged.

Auditing & Reporting: Developing and implementing inspection and audit programs, and working with the wider team to manage the project reporting matrix for external reporting.

Incident Management: Collaborating with site teams and contractors to oversee incident reporting and notification processes.

Stakeholder Engagement: Building effective relationships with regulatory authorities, reviewing contractor correspondence, and providing crucial 'owners team' input into long-term environmental decisions.

Awareness & Monitoring: Implementing workforce engagement programs to boost site-wide environmental awareness and improving monitoring programs that will be retained by Snowy Hydro
About the location:
This role is located at our Lobs Hole site, working a 14/7 FIFO Roster.
About you:

Relevant qualifications: A Bachelor's degree with an Environmental Specialisation (or a related discipline).

Industry experience: Experience in a similar role within civil construction, tunneling or mining.

Auditing expertise: Proven hands-on experience in planning and implementing site environmental audits.

Adaptability: The ability to effectively manage change in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment and assist others in doing the same.

Decisiveness: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, make timely decisions, and develop appropriate, practical solutions.
