About the position:

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified, motivated and driven Production Technician (Operator Maintainer) to join the team working at both the Colongra and HEZ Power Stations (Central Coast/Hunter based) on a full time, 9 day fortnight basis. This varied role will be responsible for applying specialised plant knowledge to safely deliver the required availability and reliability of the plant in the most effective and efficient way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the plant as required, performing routine maintenance

  • Investigate root causes to resolve plant failures and manage outages

  • Managing site contractor works and stores management

  • Developing and implementing regional plant improvements and work packages

  • Administration, including the inputting of data into relevant systems and databases

 

In this role you may be required to participate in and on call roster with requirement to stay within 1 hour of the plant whilst on call.

About you:

 

  • An Electrical / Instrumentation trade background 

  • Knowledge of maintenance program requirements, analysis techniques and maintenance management practices

  • Demonstrated fault-finding & plant diagnostic skills along with a high understanding of plant reliability principles

  • Ability to participate in an on call roster with a callout response time of 1 hour

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to provide a consistent, reliable and high level of service

  • Strong computer literacy involving spreadsheets and statistical analysis

  • Demonstrated alignment with SHL’s Values and Behaviours

  • Ability to adjust effectively to change and to work within new structures, processes requirements and cultures

  • Ability to propose new ideas and contribute to quality improvements

  • Knowledge of gas and diesel power stations, gas turbines, operations, access requirements, planning and scheduling systems is desirable.
