About the position:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Manager Access and Assurance to join our Operations team in our Gas & Diesels Northern region. Reporting to the Area Manager - Northern Gas and Diesels, you will provide technical oversight for outage plans and safe access to the plant. 

 

This role is based in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, covering the following sites: Colongra, HEZ (Hunter Economic Zone) and Kurri Kurri.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and supporting compliance to outage management processes

  • Ensuring outages, plant access and commissioning needs are met and any impact on other assets and works is taken care of

  • Overseeing all regional plants and systems to identify, understand and interpret potential, escalating or real risks to asset health and system integrity

  • Identifying, reporting on and implementing improvement strategies for non-compliance, absent processes or process gaps.

  • Overseeing training competency assessments across the Gas & Diesel business unit

  • Leading the Emergency Management compliance program

  • Assist with the business wide Major Accident Prevention Program (Process Safety)

  • Conducting Major Accident Event (MAE) verifications at the Gas & Diesel sites

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • Extensive operational experience (10+ years is ideal) in the power industry or in a heavy industrial environment

  • A trade background or relevant safety qualifications

  • Hold or working towards an Advanced Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or higher

  • Comprehensive knowledge of regional assets, access requirements and technical compliance

  • Outage and Maintenance planning experience

  • Previous auditing experience will be highly regarded

  • Knowledge of and experience with Process Safety will be highly regarded

  • Knowledge of OH&S, EEO and Environmental Policies and standards
