About Snowy:

Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy.

We also provide electricity and gas to over 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

About the position:

We are seeking an organised, articulate, and detail-oriented Procurement Framework & Compliance Lead to join our Procurement Governance & Assurance team.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement Governance & Assurance, this autonomous role takes full ownership of enterprise-wide procurement processes, procedures, governance tools, and training programs.

In this role, you won’t just be managing documentation—you will be driving change and process standardisation across the business. You will ensure our procurement framework is clear, fit for purpose, and fully aligned with regulatory requirements, including modern slavery and Australian government procurement principles.

If you are a proactive communicator skilled at simplifying complex processes, building strong stakeholder relationships, and delivering engaging training without needing to be hand-held, this chunky and impactful role offers an exceptional opportunity to make your mark.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Framework & Artefact Development: Draft, review, and maintain procurement procedures, tools, and documentation, ensuring all artefacts are written to a high standard, linear, and aligned with Snowy Hydro's enterprise governance framework.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Align procurement processes with Australian government procurement principles, risk management guidelines, and conflict of interest standards. Lead and coordinate Snowy Hydro's annual Modern Slavery Statement in partnership with the Sustainability team for publication on the Department of Home Affairs website.

  • Version Control & Lifecycle Management: Establish and administer strict document version control protocols and manage the central repository (SharePoint) so that only current, approved materials are active and legacy documents are archived.

  • Training & Change Management: Design, update, and manage a comprehensive procurement training program and workshops. Facilitate change control processes, evaluate change requests, and draft clear communications to drive smooth process adoption enterprise-wide.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Quality Assurance: Act as a primary, constructive point of contact for internal stakeholders, running cross-functional risk panels, identifying operational gaps, supporting quality assurance checks, and driving continuous improvement.

About the location:

This role is a hybrid position, and can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Cooma, operating under a 3-day in-office policy.

About you:

  • Professional Background: Demonstrated background in Learning & Development (L&D), Internal Communications, Technical Writing, Policy/Governance, or Regulatory Compliance. Commercial buying/procurement experience is not required, as the focus is on governance, quality assurance, and business process ownership.

  • Communication & Writing Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with outstanding attention to detail, grammar, structure, and formatting. Proven ability to translate complex, multi-stage processes into simple, user-friendly documentation.

  • Governance & Risk Acumen: Sound understanding of regulatory compliance, operational risks, risk mitigation, and corporate governance principles (e.g., modern slavery, conflicts of interest).

  • Autonomy & Execution: Self-motivated and independent, with the confidence to formulate constructive recommendations, drive chunky workloads forward, and take full initiative without requiring hand-holding.

  • Collaborative & Adaptive Mindset: Approachable, kind, flexible, and team-oriented with a constructive approach to continuous improvement. Willing to roll up your sleeves to support broader team objectives when needed.

  • Education & Software Proficiency: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Professional Writing, or equivalent practical experience. Proficient in MS Office, Google Workspace, process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart), and document management systems (e.g., SharePoint).
