A full-time position exists for a Stores Lead Cooma & Kosciuszko to join the Operations Services in Cooma.

About the position:

As the Stores Lead Cooma & Kosciuszko your primary purpose is to manage the warehousing and inventory operations for these key locations by performing ongoing procurement, reporting, and dispatch functions while maintaining stock levels to meet customer requirements. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete order lifecycle across the Cooma and Kosciusko facilities, including receiving, tracking, stock transfers, and dispatch, while ensuring optimal stock levels and rotation.
  • Lead regular inventory audits and stocktakes for critical spares, resolving discrepancies and managing hazardous waste reporting to meet strict audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by exhibiting zero-tolerance safety leadership, conducting Chain of Responsibility (CoR) assurance checks, and managing the safe loading/unloading of goods vehicles.
  • Maintain functional data integrity within materials management systems (specifically Ellipse), manage user profiles, and identify process improvements through user acceptance testing and new business procedures.
  • Manage supplier relationships and procurement processes to facilitate stock levels, while collaborating with Engineering, Planning, and Performance teams to manage critical project equipment.
  • Direct and mentor regional staff on warehouse standards and processes, providing ongoing performance monitoring, training, and guidance to foster a high-performing team culture.
  • Warehouse management experience for heavy industry is highly favourable.

Nestled in the picturesque high country of Cooma, NSW, this permanent role offers an ideal balance of lifestyle and career growth. We offer a fantastic work-life balance, including a 9-day fortnight roster. This role features flexible working arrangements, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office or on-site, with travel across our sites as required.

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing multi-disciplinary teams to foster a high-performing culture and achieve business outcomes.
  • Experience in heavy industry warehouse operations, critical spares management, and complex procurement processes. Proven ability to manage the end-to-end inventory lifecycle, including tracking stock movement, and end-of-life (EOL) dates.
  • Sound experience using computer-based inventory, (Ellipse and Diriger WMA highly regarded), backed by a strong understanding of inventory cataloguing standards. Familiarity with NATO cataloguing standards is highly regarded.
  • Holds a current driver’s licence and a High-Risk Work Forklift Licence (LF). This role requires a practical understanding of safe manual handling practices and the physical capability to comfortably navigate an active, heavy-industry warehouse environment.
  • A deep understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) regulations under the NHVR, alongside a strong grasp of legislation governing the transport and storage of hazardous goods.
  • High-level communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Previous experience in warehouse management or the setup of new heavy industry storage facilities would be highly regarded.
