About the position:

As our Senior Operational Readiness Engineer, you’ll be the vital bridge connecting project delivery with our future operating teams. You’ll champion the safe, efficient, and sustainable transition of Snowy 2.0 assets, systems, and people from construction and commissioning into active, everyday operation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving Readiness Planning: Support the Snowy 2.0 Operational Readiness Framework, coordinate cross-functional readiness activities across multiple workstreams, track progress against major milestones, and ensure operational needs are fully integrated into project delivery and commissioning.

  • Building Connections: Act as the key interface between engineering, commissioning, delivery teams, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M). You'll facilitate workshops and working groups, nurture strong working relationships, and keep stakeholders aligned.

  • Managing Risks & Assurance: Track actions, manage operational dependencies, identify readiness gaps, develop mitigation strategies, and coordinate reviews and audits to ensure a smooth transition.

  • Shaping Systems & Procedures: Support the development and handover of critical operational documentation, including operating manuals, maintenance strategies, operating instructions, work instructions, and emergency response plans.

  • Supporting Handover & Commissioning: Participate in commissioning readiness reviews, support asset handover processes, and assist with practical completion and operational acceptance activities

About the location:

This role is located at our Project Head Office in Cooma, NSW. We can look at relocation or a FIFO arrangement and there may be a certain degree of flexibility for the right candidate.

About you:

  • Relevant Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Mechanical, Process or similar), Project Management, or a relevant Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification with significant industry experience.

  • Proven Experience: Significant experience with demonstrated background supporting operational readiness, commissioning, power generation, or operational transition activities within major infrastructure, energy, utilities, construction, or mining environments.

  • Stakeholder & People Skills: Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability with experience coordinating multiple stakeholders in large, complex environments.

  • Strategic Mindset & Frameworks: Excellent planning, organizational, and reporting skills, backed by a solid understanding of operational readiness frameworks, methodologies, and asset handover processes.
