Project Risk Coordinator
About Snowy:
Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the iconic Snowy Hydro-electric Scheme. We also provide electricity and gas to over 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.
Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
About the position:
To help us deliver Snowy 2.0 safely and successfully, we are looking for a highly organized and friendly Project Risk Coordinator to join our team.
As our Project Risk Coordinator, you won't just be managing an Active Risk ManagerⓇ database—you will be the central coordinator for the Snowy Hydro Risk Management discipline. This challenging role includes day-to-day interactions with all levels of management and our construction teams in the site offices.
By supporting the efficient capture, quality checking and reporting of complex risk data, you will directly empower our leaders to make informed decisions. You are the essential link that connects our experts, our data, and our reporting, helping us to ensure that risks are managed and opportunities realise
Key Responsibilities:
-
Administrator of the Database: You'll be the primary administrator of our Active Risk Manager (ARM) database, ensuring high-quality risk data, managing user licenses, and generating vital reports
-
Collaborating with Experts: You will work closely with workstream leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to capture, update, and manage risks, controls, and actions
-
Planning and Recording Workshops: You'll play a crucial role in our risk assessment workshops—from preparing materials and scribing during the sessions, to refining the risk registers afterward.
- Ensuring Excellence: You’ll help generate internal audits, assist in drafting presentations, and work alongside the Governance Manager to make sure our reporting meets all internal and external audit requirements
About the location:
This role is located at our Project Head Office in Cooma, NSW, working Monday to Friday.
About you:
-
A ‘people person’: You enjoy interacting with others as this is a very interactive position.
-
Agile and flexible: The role requires a balance between maintaining scheduled activities and responding to stakeholder demands.
-
Exceptional organisational skills: You can seamlessly juggle multiple moving parts and keep information highly structured.
-
Strong communication: You have the ability to translate complex information into clear reports and the confidence to collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders.
-
An eager-to-learn mindset: While prior experience in a project delivery environment is a great bonus, we care far more about your drive, adaptability, and readiness to grow with our investment in you
-
Looking to develop your career as a Risk Professional: This is an excellent opportunity for the right person looking to build their career in Risk Management.
We are incredibly proud of our community and are actively looking for local candidates to join us. You don't need to be an absolute expert in risk management on day one—if you have strong foundational skills and the right attitude, we are fully committed to training you up and investing in your long-term career development
