About the position:

As a full-time Project Engineer - Electrical reporting to the Manager - Project Engineering, you will provide essential electrical project engineering and technical support to the Capital Projects Team for existing snowy hydro assets. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring the long-term reliability and availability of Snowy Hydro's assets through a diverse suite of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Documentation Oversight: Promote ethical practices, coordinate electrical engineering activities, develop deliverables, and rigorously review all engineering documentation for equipment, materials, and services to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Monitor work execution to confirm adherence to design, participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and implement corrective actions in line with project procedures and quality plans.
  • Technical Reviews and Procurement Support: Coordinate and participate in various technical reviews (design, safety in design, construction methodology, risk), and assist with procurement activities.
  • Construction, Commissioning, and Handover Support: Coordinate commissioning programs, provide field engineering support during construction and commissioning, and ensure complete and correct technical documentation for project handover and close-out.
  • Professional Development & Collaboration: Continuously improve personal skills, maintain current industry knowledge, and build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project Reporting & Control: Assist Project Engineering Manager/Project Managers in reporting engineering progress and implementing corrective actions to maintain project budgets and schedules.

About the location:

While Cooma, NSW is the preferred location for this role, we will also consider candidates based from any of our Snowy Asset regional office locations, with hybrid working arrangements available for the right candidate. Relocation assistance is available for those interested in relocating to Cooma

About you:

  • Holds a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering satisfying the requirements for Corporate Membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience on medium to large Greenfield and Brownfield projects within a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Possesses technical exposure to equipment technologies relevant to power generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of personnel, including internal and external stakeholders, and those in remote locations.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a small multidisciplinary team, and can perform effectively both on-site and remotely.
  • Able to adapt quickly and constructively to changing circumstances and business demands.
  • Ability to work 2-3 days per week from the office and travel to sites, including overnight stays, as required for project delivery.
