The Role
Based in Cooma, the Onboarding Lead is responsible for getting the Snowy 2.0 workforce ready for deployment. This role ensures all personnel are fully trained, compliant, and prepared to work safely by overseeing inductions, mobilisation, and training programs. Beyond managing day-to-day compliance and workforce readiness, the Lead drives process improvements and coordinates ongoing housing logistics for Cooma-based employees to ensure a smooth transition into the project.
This 2-year contract is based in Cooma (Monday–Friday). Relocation assistance is available if you're joining us from outside the region.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management - Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team to implement strategic mobilisation plans and workforce policies, ensuring a culture of safety and compliance while effectively managing resources to meet evolving project demands.

Premobilisation and Onboarding - Manage the end-to-end mobilisation process by overseeing compliance checks, logistics, and site-specific inductions to ensure every worker is fully prepared and tracked for deployment.

Training and Compliance Oversight - Establish and manage rigorous governance and reporting processes to ensure 100% workforce compliance with all regulatory standards and project requirements prior to mobilisation.

Housing and Accommodation Management - Strategically lead housing and accommodation for the Cooma region by managing contracts, budgets, and stakeholder relationships while implementing a new framework to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient living standards for the Snowy 2.0 workforce.
- Continuous Improvement - Drive continuous improvement by implementing digital automation and benchmarking against industry best practices to enhance the employee experience, reduce delays, and optimise compliance tracking.

Stakeholder Engagement - Partner with key stakeholders to manage risks, resolve escalations, and provide executive reporting on workforce readiness.
What You'll Bring:
Experience in mobilisation, onboarding, or workforce compliance, including demonstrated experience in a leadership role within the construction, mining, or resources sectors. You possess a deep understanding of industry compliance requirements and a proven track record of designing and overseeing complex training and competency programs. Having led teams in high-volume, fast-paced environments, you are skilled at managing FIFO/DIDO mobilisation programs and utilising workforce management systems to track compliance. Additionally, you are a strong communicator who can effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure the project’s workforce is safe, ready, and fully compliant.
