About the position:
Join the team at Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre as a Customer Service Officer supporting the visitor experience and cafe teams in delivering excellent customer service. With over 100,000 visitors each year, the centre is a vibrant and fast-paced environment. Our customer service officers are the face of Snowy Hydro for visitors and the community.
There are several casual positions available, based at our Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre in Cooma. The centre operates 7 days a week, 360+ days a year, with a mix of weekday and weekend shifts available.
Some regional travel in the Snowy Mountains may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- As part of our Discovery Centre team, you'll help create a welcoming and memorable experience for community members and visitors to the region.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service, taking orders and preparing food and drinks.
- Share the story of the Snowy Scheme and Snowy Hydro’s operations with visitors of all ages.
- Respond to customer enquiries; in person, online and over the phone, with professionalism and a customer-first approach.
- Maintain a clean and safe cafe and food service area, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met.
- Represent Snowy Hydro at local festivals, regional events and community engagement activities.
About you:
- Minimum 12 months’ experience in hospitality, retail, customer service or similar roles
- Certificate III in Hospitality or barista skills (highly desirable, not essential)
- Confident communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Alignment with Snowy Hydro’s values
