About the position:

Our apprentice program offers opportunities for local people to commence a four-year trade certificate as an Electrician or Fitter & Machinist.  Successful applicants will complete a Certificate III in Electrotechnology or Engineering- Mechanical Trade through TAFE with on-the-job training and mentoring from our experienced tradespersons.

 

To ensure you develop a wide range of skills as an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to rotate through the Snowy Scheme's operating and maintenance centres in Jindabyne, Khancoban, Cabramurra and Talbingo. 

As a successful Snowy Hydro apprentice, you will be someone who:

  • is an autonomous learner and problem solver with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • is proactive, punctual and reliable, has a genuine interest in their chosen field and is motivated by opportunity.
  • is able to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team 
  • Has a genuine desire to understand how things work
  • shares the Snowy Hydro values of safety, teamwork, agility, decency, ownership and courage
