About the position:

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join us on a full time or part time basis. This role is vital in facilitating the timely and accurate payment of invoices and entitlements, consistent with business rules, while coordinating the accounts receivable function and receipt of remittances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable: Process finance correspondence, pay suppliers and staff within defined terms, and execute daily bulk payment files (EFT) and weekly cheque payments with high levels of accuracy and efficiency. 

  • Reconciliation & Dispute Resolution: Reconcile vendor statements, manage the accounts payable inbox, and promptly resolve any discrepancies or outstanding issues to maintain positive vendor relationships.

  • System and Control Management: Act as Systems Administrator for Diriger IPA, DMA & EPA Platforms. Maintain supplier data integrity by reviewing and approving creations/modifications in Ellipse via Gatekeeper and utilising platforms like Diligent and Eftsure.

  • Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Actively identify SCAMS/Phishing attempts and exercise ongoing vigilance against potential fraud, reviewing invoice data for ABN/GST/TAX anomalies. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and obligations.

  • Process Improvement: Assist in streamlining and improving Accounts Payable processes by identifying opportunities and implementing targeted initiatives.

  • Customer Service & Support: Deliver superior customer experience, build strong relationships with internal and external customers, and provide training and support for Diriger platform queries to SHL & Retail users.

About the location:

This role is based in Cooma, NSW and is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days required in the office. 

About you:

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in a high transaction volume, deadline-driven environment.

  • Exposure to accounting, procurement, and reporting systems and practices, including operating computer-based accounting systems.

  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate financial records, and exercise excellent time management.

  • Proven relationship building skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.

  • Consistent demonstration of SHL company values and the ability to exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.
