About Snowy:

Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the iconic Snowy Hydro-electric Scheme, gas and diesel electricity generating plants, and contracted wind and solar energy in the National Electricity Market. We also provide electricity and gas to over 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.

Snowy 2.0, currently under construction, is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

About the position:

Are you an experienced electrical professional who thrives on-site? Do you have the technical expertise to ensure large-scale infrastructure projects are delivered to the highest standard?

We are looking for a proactive Technical Officer (Electrical) to join the Snowy 2.0 project team. This is a vital role for someone who is not just looking to record progress, but to actively engage with site parties to ensure quality, safety, and functionality across all electrical work fronts.

You will be our "eyes and ears" on the ground. Providing technical surveillance and assurance, ensuring our contractors are delivering work in line with our design requirements and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Active Oversight: Daily physical attendance at active work fronts to monitor progress and ensure compliance.

  • Quality Assurance: Working closely with Quality Engineers to inspect work, manage Witness and Hold Points, and ensure adherence to IFC drawings and specifications.

  • Problem Solving: Identifying issues early and communicating effectively with your Manager and the engineering team to implement timely solutions.

  • Stakeholder Management: Building strong, honest, and collaborative relationships with contractors and subcontractors to reduce conflict and drive successful project outcomes.

  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous records and site photos via the ACONEX platform.

About the location:

This role will require you to be 100% on-site, working off a 14/7 FIFO roster. Standard FIFO camp-style arrangements are included.

About you:

  • Qualifications: An Electrical Trade background is highly desirable, combined with relevant training and experience.

  • Communication: Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.

  • Adaptability: You are proactive, excellent at identifying problems, and comfortable managing change in a dynamic work environment.

  • Values: You have a genuine commitment to health and safety and a strong alignment with our project delivery and corporate values

About our workforce:
