About the position:

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to make a significant impact on one of Australia's most complex and iconic infrastructure projects? We are looking for a dedicated Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) to join our Snowy 2.0 site team. This is a unique opportunity to provide vital engineering oversight and assurance, ensuring that our electrical construction and installation works meet the highest standards and contractual requirements.

 

You won't just be checking boxes; you’ll be a proactive leader on the ground. Reporting directly to the Site Manager (Electrical), you’ll act as their 2IC and play a key role in the project’s success. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading with Safety: You’ll champion our commitment to health and safety, ensuring all activities align with Snowy Hydro’s policies and values.

  • Driving Excellence: You will provide assurance that construction and installation works are delivered exactly as designed, preventing legacy issues and ensuring the long-term performance of the Snowy 2.0 asset.

  • Proactive Oversight: You will be our eyes and ears on site, reviewing the contractor’s performance to identify and resolve potential issues before they become delays or quality concerns.

  • Technical Collaboration: You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team, providing technical support to site engineers and assurance officers, and coordinating with major contractors like Voith and Future Generation Joint Venture

About the location:

This role will require you to be 100% on-site, working off a 14/7 FIFO roster. Standard FIFO camp-style arrangements are included.

About you:

We are looking for someone who is as technically capable as they are collaborative. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

 

  • Qualifications: A degree in Electrical Engineering that makes you eligible for Corporate Membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.

  • Experience: Experience on large-scale, complex civil or infrastructure projects and knowledge of EM installation. 

  • Adaptability: The ability to establish priorities, work autonomously, and adapt effectively to changing site circumstances.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to build robust, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
