About the position:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Maintenance Technician - Protection to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Cabramurra, NSW. As an electrical tradesperson you will be responsible for installing, overhauling and conducting routine and breakdown maintenance for all controls and protection features of hydro generating sets, auxiliary plant and outlying hydraulic structures. This also involves isolating the plant to contribute to achieving the required availability and reliability of Snowy Hydro assets.
Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Overhaul: Installing, overhauling, and testing generating plant, auxiliary, outlying equipment, and structures.

Electrical Tasks: Performing various electrical trades tasks such as wiring, fault finding, routine maintenance testing, and specialised protection tasks within authorised limits.

Maintenance: Conducting routine and breakdown maintenance, and identifying, reporting, and repairing defects on generating plant, auxiliary plant, outlying equipment, and structures.

Commissioning: Participating in commissioning and recommissioning activities following installation or overhaul of equipment.

Administration: Maintaining records by completing all administrative requirements and utilising the maintenance management systems
About the location:
This position is based at Cabramurra, in the stunning Kosciuszko National Park, working a 4 day week on a DIDO arrangement.
About you:

Qualifications: A Certificate III in Electrotechnology Trade, with advanced heavy industry experience is essential. (Diploma of ESI/Electrical Engineering or equivalent is preferred)

Ability to supervise, train and develop electrical apprentices

Advanced ability to use drawings, schedules, standards, and codes, along with a deep knowledge of electrical systems installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and monitoring procedures and work methods. This also includes a thorough knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.

Advanced computer skills, specifically in Google suite and Maintenance Management systems, are essential.

Effective communicator with the capability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines, resolving problems as they occur.
